the founder of intarsia music productions has always had a love of music. from classic rock to punk, from progressive rock to modern jazz, from fusion in early adulthood to deep house, world music, african drums, top 40, indie rock, tibetan chants and everything in between today. more than just a lover of listening to music, he paid his dues playing drums in punk-rock bands and, later in life, picking up the bass guitar.
in recent years, however, finding the music he really wanted to listen to has been somewhat challenging. so, he decided to give it a try and setup an environment that would allow like-minded producers to create this music.
blending modern deep house rhythms (steady beat, percussive bass, atmospheric Rhodes pianos, organs and synth) with creative, improvisational jazz music has been created over the years by several renown producers. but, this is a difficult style to pin down. jazz had tremendous influence on many artists/producers and elements of it can be found on many of the modern house/trance productions. finding the right balance between deep house rhythms with jazz atmosphere and soloing is an ‘in between’ place that requires attention and a special sensibility to navigate.
blurring the lines between genres, not being confined to a particular ‘formula’ is risky business; it can be done mainly out of love of music and less out of a targeted commercial success.
creating from st. germain studios, intarsia music productions wants to assist producers & artists alike in navigating this amazing space and enhance it with new, creative pieces of sounds.
